On the 9th of May, Lois Stirling as a former under graduate of the University of Ulster presented at the MicrE conference, organised by the Ulster Business School and the Office of Innovation Knowledge Club, at the Templeton hotel in Templepatrick. The conference was aimed at promoting the production of renewable energy to small and medium sized enterprises in Northern Ireland. Highlighting that renewable energy can be funded using different financial models in order to gain considerable savings and a return on capital employed in the early years of investment.
Our role was to highlight the tax incentives available and provide advice on how to apply and benefit from the options available. Other presenters covered a range of technologies such as ground source heat pumps, anaerobic digestion, biomass boilers, wind turbines and solar panels, giving ample information for the organisations in attendance to learn more about each.
